IUST Biometric Attendance (IUST Connect)

          This Privacy Policy explains how the application collects, uses, and
          protects user data. The app is strictly intended for official
          attendance purposes for IUST staff and faculty.
        

By using this application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

To provide attendance functionality, the following data is collected:

A. Biometric & Facial Data

Collection: Facial images captured via device camera.
Purpose: Liveness detection and identity verification.
Storage: Securely processed and stored on university servers.

B. Location Data

Collection: GPS coordinates during check-in/check-out.
Purpose: Enforcing geofencing within campus boundaries.
Note: No background tracking is performed.

C. Personal & Device Information

Employee ID, phone number
Device model, OS version
Network and authentication data

2. Permissions Required

Camera: For facial verification
Location: For attendance validation

3. Data Usage

Used strictly for internal administrative purposes
No sharing with third parties
Disclosure only under legal obligations

4. Data Security

Encrypted data transmission
Secure university-managed infrastructure
Restricted administrative access

5. Data Retention

Data is retained as per university policy. Upon leaving the organization, biometric access is revoked and data is archived or deleted.

6. User Rights

Disabling required permissions (camera/location) will prevent usage of the app. For concerns, contact the administration.

7. Policy Updates

Updates will be communicated via official notifications or within the app.
